The wastewater generated in the paint production industry contains high levels of suspended solids, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, toxic materials, heavy metals, solvent and turbidity. Waste water containing these high pollutants is treated using physical, chemical and biological processes. The process to be used is decided by characterizing the waste water and determining the discharge standards with a team of experts in the field. Then, a sustainable wastewater treatment plant is designed.
First, solvent removal is done to prevent the lines from clogging. Then, the chemical wastewater is conditioned with neutralizer, coagulant and flocculants and settled in the chemical settling pool. In this way, heavy metals in the waste water are removed.
