Short answer
Wastewater treatment technologies are grouped by the type of pollutant. Chemical treatment (neutralization, coagulation, DAF, Fenton, heavy-metal precipitation) targets dissolved and colloidal pollutants, while biological treatment (activated sludge, SBR, MBR, MBBR, anaerobic) removes the organic load. Physical separation provides mechanical pre-treatment, advanced membrane technologies (UF, NF, RO) deliver the fine treatment leading to water reuse and ZLD, and sludge treatment and gas treatment complete the chain.
MBR — Membrane Bioreactor
Combines biological treatment with membrane filtration for high-quality effluent in a compact plant.
SBR — Sequencing Batch Reactor
Flexible and efficient biological treatment based on a fill–aerate–settle–decant cycle.
MBBR — Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor
High-efficiency biological treatment using biofilm grown on moving carrier media.
Coagulation & Flocculation
Removal of suspended solids and colour by PAC, FeCl₃ and polymer dosing.
RO — Reverse Osmosis
Removes salts, minerals and organic matter by membrane; used in water reuse and ZLD applications.
UF — Ultrafiltration
Removes bacteria, viruses, colloids and suspended solids; used in MBR and as pre-filtration.
Sludge Treatment & Dewatering
Sludge thickening, stabilization and dewatering with filter press, belt press and centrifuge systems.
Scrubbers & Gas Treatment
Chemical and biological washing towers, biofilters and activated carbon for odour, acid gas and VOC control.
DAF — Dissolved Air Flotation
Removes oil & grease, suspended solids (TSS) and part of the COD load by dissolved air flotation.
